Where do I go to create a new email message?
To create a new message, select the “Compose” link at the top of the page. This will open a page with a blank email for your use.
How do I add an email address from my address book?
If you would like to add a recipient from your address book to your current email, select the “Add Recipients” link on the left hand side of the page. This will open a pop-up box listing all email addresses in your address book. Select the email(s) you would like to send to and use the arrow buttons down the middle of the page to place them in the to field, cc field, or bcc field. Once you have made your selections, click on the “Add Recipients” button at the top of the pop-up box. This should add the email addresses you specified and close the pop-up box.
I have an option to add a BCC, what is a BCC?
BCC stands for Blind Carbon Copy. This is a fancy term for allowing you to specify an email address to send the email to, but will hide the email address from all those that received the email. Example: You send an email to five recipients and you want a copy of the email to go to your inbox, but you do not want the other five recipients to know that. So you add your email address as a BCC. You will now get a copy of the email, but the other recipients will not know about it.
How do I add an attachment to my email?
With the new email message open, select the “Attachments” link on the left hand side of the page. You will get a pop-up box listing 3 steps you must follow to attach the file to the email. In step one you select the Browse button and locate the file you would like to attach to the email. In step two you select the “Attach File” button to add the file to your email. Repeat steps one and two for multiple files. Once you have chosen to attach the file it should display it below, as well the size of the file. If this is not the correct file, just click on the garbage can next to the file to remove it. Once all files have been attached, chose the “Done” button to finish attaching the file(s) and close the pop-up box. You should now see the file(s) displayed in the “Attachments” box of the email you are composing.
Can I save the message that I am going to send?
It is possible to save the new email to your drafts folder. To do this, select the “Save Msg” link on the left hand side of the page. This will automatically save the message, displaying an unsent copy of the message for you to view. If you would like to change the message, or go ahead and send it, select the “Read Mail” link at the top of the page. This will return you to your inbox with your folders on the left hand side. Select the drafts folder. You should see your message displayed in the list. Choose the message you would like to work with by selecting the subject of that message. You should now be able to view the saved email. To use this email select the “Open Message” link on the left hand side. You can now edit and send your saved message.
Can I manipulate the text in the message I am composing?
Through the MyMail program you have many options on changing the display of text in your new message. Above the message body text box you will see multiple options to change the font, color, text size, and more. To learn these options, open a blank email and test all the buttons.
