Please see below for frequently asked questions during this difficult time:
Q. My service has been knocked out by the hurricane. When will you be restoring service?
A. Cable ONE is required to wait for permission from public safety officials before we can re-enter the area and begin restoring service to our residential and business customers. We must then follow the local power companies in their restoration efforts. Commercial power will first need to be restored to many areas throughout the region before Cable ONE can fully assess the impact on our network and begin service restoration. We will do everything we can to restore service to every one of our affected customers as quickly as possible, including deploying additional technicians.
We appreciate your patience and cooperation as our associates work around the clock to review and map fiber breaks, repair or replace impacted plant and equipment, and assist and coordinate with other organizations as hurricane recovery begins. Restoring service is our top priority, and Cable ONE associates will continue to work diligently to bring customers back online.
Q.Will I be charged for damaged equipment (modems, DVRs, cable boxes, etc)?
A. No – Cable ONE will not be charging customers for equipment that was damaged in the hurricane.
Q. I have been without service/power due to Hurricane Harvey. Will I be charged for service?
A. Billing will be waived for our Texas Coast customers for the duration of the storm until services are restored.
Q. I was evacuated and cannot pay my previous month’s bill on time – will I be sent to collections?
A. We have currently postponed all billing and collections activity until further notice due to Hurricane Harvey, so you will not be sent to collections.
Q.Do you have any updates about Hurricane Harvey?
A. Cable ONE continues to closely monitor Hurricane Harvey so that we can re-enter the area and begin service restoration once we have permission from public safety officials. We urge all of our customers to stay safe and continue following the directives of local public safety officials.
